Quickstart
Get up and running with AI Notebook in a few steps — from creating your account to running your first kernel.
Step 1: Create an account
- Go to https://factory.fptcloud.com/.
- Click Sign up and choose FPT ID or Continue with Google.
- If using FPT ID, verify your account via the confirmation email from FPT Smart Cloud.
Step 2: Create and launch an AI Notebook lab
- In the Workspace sidebar, click AI Notebook under Services.
- Click Create for the region you want to use and wait 3–5 minutes for the status to reach Running.
- Click Access to open the Notebook Lab.
See detailed guide: Create and Access an AI Notebook Lab
Step 3: Top up your wallet
GPU kernels require credits. Top up before starting a GPU notebook.
- In the left sidebar, click Billing.
- Click Pay now in the Organization balance section.
- Fill in your account information, then click Continue.
- Select a top-up amount and click Continue.
- Select a payment method (VNPAY-QR, Stripe, or PayPal) and complete the payment.
Your balance updates as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Step 4: Create a notebook
Inside AI Notebook Lab, creating a notebook means starting a kernel session connected to compute resources.
CPU notebook (free):
- In the Launcher, click the + button.
- Choose CPU Notebook.
GPU notebook:
- In the Launcher, choose a notebook with your preferred GPU (e.g. 1× GPU H100 SXM5).
- Click Confirm on the confirmation dialog.
- Wait 1–2 minutes for the kernel to be ready.
See detailed guide: Start a CPU or GPU Kernel
Step 5: Connect a notebook to a kernel
To connect or switch kernels, open the kernel configuration menu in the top-right of the notebook.
Connect to an existing kernel:
- Under Running Kernels, select the kernel you want to connect to.
Start a new kernel:
- Under Start Other Kernels, select the GPU type you want.
- Click Confirm and wait 1–2 minutes.
See detailed guide: Connect to a Kernel
Step 6: Shut down a kernel
- In the JupyterLab navigation bar, click Running Kernels / Notebooks (second icon from the top).
- In the Running GPU Kernel table, click Shut Down next to the kernel you want to stop, or click Shut Down All to stop all running kernels.
