What is incremental backup and what are its benefits?

Incremental backup is a backup method based on the principle of comparing the current system with the most recent backup and only storing data that has changed. A Full Backup captures and stores all data every time, which takes considerably longer to process. Compared with that, incremental backup saves significant time, processing performance, and storage capacity.

You choose between the two when you configure a Backup Job. The Backup option field offers Daily full backup, Daily incremental Weekly active full, and Daily incremental Monthly active full.

Incremental restore points depend on the earlier points in their chain. That is why the number of restore points you see can exceed the Latest backup to keep value you configured.
