Why do I sometimes see more Restore Points than the Latest Backup to Keep value I configured?

Incremental backup only stores the changes between the current system and the most recent backup. Restoring from an incremental Restore Point therefore requires the older Restore Points in the same chain, so those older points cannot be removed while anything still depends on them.

Depending on the backup mode you have selected, FPT Cloud always deletes Restore Points automatically once they are no longer needed, to optimize storage capacity. This is expected behaviour rather than a quota leak.

note

If you need to reclaim backup storage immediately instead of waiting for automatic cleanup, you can delete all Restore Points of a target.
