Global Search Troubleshooting

No results after entering a keyword

Possible causes:

  • The resource name does not match exactly — Global Search uses substring matching but is sensitive to spaces and special characters.
  • The resource is on a different tab — for example, you are viewing the Instances tab but the resource is a Subnet.

Solutions:

  • Check the name or IP address — try a shorter substring.
  • Switch through each tab to see the full results by resource type.
  • Click View all result to see all results without limit.

Clicking a result does not open a detail page

Cause: The resource has no dedicated detail page.

Solution: The system navigates to the resource type's list screen — look for the resource there.

Download button is missing or the downloaded file is empty

Cause: No results are shown on the full results screen (filters are too narrow).

Solutions:

  • Remove the VPC or Region filter, or clear the Search by resource name field.
  • Click Download after results appear — the file reflects exactly what is on screen at the time of download.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does Global Search find resources in every VPC and Region?
A: Yes. Global Search covers the entire system with no VPC or Region restriction. Use the filters after viewing results to narrow the scope.

Q: Can I search by private IP?
A: Yes. The IP Addresses tab searches both Public IPs and Private IPs, including addresses attached to an Instance's NIC.

Q: Does the Excel file include resources outside the current filters?
A: No. The file contains only what is currently displayed on screen — all active filters apply.
