Postpaid Services — Concepts and comparison with prepaid

FPT Cloud offers two payment models: prepaid via digital wallet and postpaid via contract — each suited to different usage needs.

Why are some services postpaid-only?

Some services require dedicated hardware, custom configuration, or minimum usage commitments for FPT Cloud to ensure operational efficiency and adequate resource provision. These services require a contract to clearly define SLA, usage terms, and responsibilities between both parties.

Typical example: GPU Instance

GPUs are high-cost dedicated hardware. FPT Cloud requires a minimum usage commitment to ensure operational efficiency and establish SLA appropriate for AI, rendering, or HPC workloads.

Can I use both models simultaneously?

Yes. On the same FPT Cloud account, you can:

  • Use prepaid to run General Instances, Storage Disks, Floating IPs, and other prepaid services
  • Use postpaid (via a separate contract) to access services outside the prepaid list

The two models don't conflict. Prepaid costs continue to be deducted from your wallet normally; postpaid costs are consolidated into invoices per contract billing cycle.
