Guide: Managing Policies

This guide describes how to view and create resource access control policies (Policies) in IAM.

Activation required: The Policies feature must be enabled for your organization by an FPT Cloud System Admin before it can be used. If the Policies menu does not appear in the navigation bar, contact the FPT Cloud team for assistance.


Viewing the Policies List

  1. From the left navigation bar, select IAMPolicies.

    The policies list page appears.

  2. The table includes the following columns:

NameThe identifying name of the policy.
Apply toThe User Group this policy applies to.
Resource typeThe type of resource being controlled (e.g., Instance, VPC, Storage).
Policy actionThe action that is permitted or denied (Allow/Deny).
StatusThe status: Active or Inactive.
Created AtWhen the policy was created.

Creating a New Policy

  1. On the Policies page, click Create policy.

    The policy creation page appears (bound to the currently selected VPC).

  2. Fill in the fields:

Apply to user groupYesThe User Group this policy applies to.
Resource typeYesThe type of resource to control access for.
Policy actionYesThe action: Allow or Deny.
  1. Click Save to create the policy.

Note: Policies are created at the VPC level — each policy applies to resources within the specific VPC selected at creation time.


Editing and Deleting a Policy

  • Edit: Click the policy name → update the information → Save.
  • Delete: Click the delete icon or select Delete from the action menu → confirm.
