VPC — Troubleshooting
Cannot Create VPC — Create VPC Button Disabled or Request Fails
Symptom: The Create VPC button is unresponsive, hidden, or the system returns an error message after clicking Confirm.
Common causes:
- Quota exceeded: You have reached the maximum number of VPCs allowed in the Project or Organization.
- Insufficient permissions: Your account does not have permission to create a VPC in the selected Project.
- Project not activated: The target Project is not in an active state.
Resolution:
- Check the current number of VPCs in the Project — if the limit has been reached, contact your administrator to increase the quota.
- Confirm that your account has a role with sufficient permissions (typically
adminoreditor) in the target Project. - If the error persists after checking quota and permissions, contact FPT Cloud support with your Project ID and the error message.
Want to Change VPC Type but the Type Option Is Not Available
Symptom: After creating a VPC, you want to switch from General to Specific (or vice versa) but cannot find this option in the action menu or detail page.
Cause: The VPC type (Type) is fixed at creation time and cannot be changed — this is a platform design limitation.
Resolution:
- Create a new VPC with the desired type (General or Specific).
- Migrate resources (Instance, Subnet, Security Group…) from the old VPC to the new VPC.
- Delete the old VPC after all resources have been migrated and normal operation has been confirmed.
Note: Plan carefully before creating a VPC to avoid having to perform this resource migration effort.
Tag Just Added Is Not Saved or Disappears After Saving
Symptom: After adding a tag via Actions → Manage tags and clicking Confirm, the Tags column in the list still shows the old value or the new tag does not appear.
Common causes:
- You clicked × to close the dialog instead of clicking Confirm — the changes were not saved.
- The browser is displaying a cached version of the page.
- The login session expired during the operation.
Resolution:
- Open Manage tags again, add the tag, and make sure to click Confirm (not × or Cancel).
- Refresh the page (F5 or Ctrl+R) to reload the latest data from the server.
- If the page prompts you to log in again, log in and retry the operation.
- If the tag still cannot be saved, try on a different browser or in private/incognito mode to rule out a cache issue.
VPC Name Was Changed but Old Name Still Appears
Symptom: After editing the VPC name via Actions → Edit and clicking Confirm, the VPC list still shows the old name.
Common causes:
- The browser is displaying cached data — the page has not reloaded after the change was saved.
- The update request is still being processed — this typically completes within a few seconds.
Resolution:
- Wait 5–10 seconds and then refresh the page (F5 or Ctrl+R).
- If the name has still not updated after refreshing, perform the Edit operation again.
- If the name has not changed after two attempts, contact FPT Cloud support with the VPC Name and Project ID.
