Tagging Overview

The Tagging module lets you label cloud resources so you can classify, search, and track them by project, environment, or owning team.

What is a tag

A tag has three parts:

  • Key — the classification name, for example: environment, team, project
  • Value — the specific value, for example: production, backend, infra-2026
  • Color — the color shown in the UI (8 colors: gray, red, orange, yellow, green, teal, indigo, purple)

Tags are stored at the organization level — they can be assigned to any resource and are not scoped to a single VPC.
