Create a new query

Start a new query from the Queries page when you want to write SQL from scratch. The query opens in Query Editor, where you write, run, and save it.

Prerequisites

  • Your role lets you save queries. Your Admin assigns roles in Access management.

Start a new query

  1. Select Queries in the sidebar.
  2. Select + New Query at the top right.

Query Editor opens a new blank tab named Untitled query <date and time>, for example Untitled query 10-01-2026 09:15:02. The cursor is in the editor, ready for you to type. Tabs you already had open stay as they are.

note

Query Editor holds up to 10 tabs. If you already have 10, no new tab opens and you see Maximum 10 tabs allowed. Close a tab, then open a new one.

Write and save the query

  1. Type your SQL in the editor.
  2. Select Execute to check the result (optional).
  3. Select Save on the toolbar.
  4. In Save query, type a Query name. It must be unique among your saved queries.
  5. Type a Description, up to 1,000 characters (optional).
  6. Select Save query.

The tab takes the name you typed. On the Queries page, the new query appears at the top of the list.

note

Until you select Save, the SQL lives only in the tab in this browser. It does not appear on the Queries page.
