Create a Secret Engine

A Secret Engine is the component that manages and stores Secrets inside a Vault Instance. Each Secret Engine has its own mount point and can hold multiple Secrets in Key/Value format.

Prerequisites

• You created a Vault Instance. See Create a Vault Instance.

1. Open Key Vault Management

On Key Vault Management, select the Key Vault to add a Secret Engine to.

2. Start creating the Secret Engine

Open the Secret tab and click Create.

3. Enter the Secret Engine details

Enter the required information on the Create New Secret Engine screen, then click Create.

4. Verify the Secret Engine

The system sends a confirmation message and adds the new Secret Engine to the list.

Next steps

• Create a Secret — add a Secret inside this Secret Engine.
• Delete a Secret Engine — remove a Secret Engine you no longer need.
