Native Alert overview
Native Alert tells you when a resource on FPT Cloud has a problem, before your end users report it. You set the alert condition once, and the system monitors it and sends notifications to Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Telegram.
note
Native Alert is the new name of FPT Cloud Guard. Alerts and recipients you created in Cloud Guard are kept, and the feature is under Monitoring → Native alert in the FPT Cloud Portal.
What Native Alert does
- Resource alert notifies you when a metric of a Virtual Machine, Load Balancer, Object Storage, VPN Site-to-Site, or Auto Scaling group crosses a threshold, for example CPU, requests per second, backends down, or tunnel status.
- For Auto Scaling, an alert can also scale in or scale out automatically when the metric crosses the threshold. For Load Balancer, an alert on a load metric can upgrade the Load Balancer package automatically.
- Activity alert notifies you when someone performs an action on a resource in the VPC, such as creating or deleting it.
- Threat alert notifies you when a Floating IP shows signs of being scanned, infected with malware, or under DDoS attack.
- Recipient is where alerts are delivered. One recipient can serve many alerts.
How Native Alert works
- You create a recipient with a notification channel.
- You create an alert: choose the resource, metric, threshold, and recipient.
- Native Alert recalculates the metric on the Alert interval you choose, at least every 3 minutes.
- When the metric crosses the threshold, the alert moves to
Alarmand sends a notification. When the metric returns to a safe level, the alert moves back toOKand notifies you again.
Alerts and recipients are managed per VPC, so the Apply To field lists only resources in the selected VPC.
