Native Alert FAQs
Find answers to common issues with creating alerts, choosing recipients, and tracking alert state in Native Alert, so you can fix them without waiting for support.
How is Native Alert different from FPT Cloud Guard?
Native Alert is the new name of FPT Cloud Guard, not a different product. Every alert and recipient you created in Cloud Guard is kept in Native Alert, under Monitoring → Native alert.
Which resources can Native Alert monitor?
Resource alert supports Virtual Machine, Load Balancer, Object Storage, VPN Site-to-Site, and Auto Scaling. Activity alert tracks actions on resources in the VPC, and Threat alert monitors Floating IPs. See Resource alert metric reference.
Why does Apply To show No Options?
The selected VPC has no resource of the type selected in Type. Check the VPC in the Portal's top bar, or create the resource first and then come back to create the alert.
Why can't I find a recipient in Notify to?
Notify to lists only recipients at the right level for the alert type:
- Object Storage alerts accept only
Project-level recipients. - All other alert types accept only
VPC-level recipients of the current VPC.
Create a recipient at the right level, see Manage recipients.
Why can't I see an alert or recipient I created?
Alerts and VPC-level recipients appear only in the VPC where they were created. Check the selected VPC in the Portal's top bar.
Why am I not notified when the alert is in Alarm?
Check in this order:
- The alert has a recipient in the Notify to column. The field is optional, so an alert can exist without notifying anyone.
- The alert's Enable column is on.
- Slack or Telegram recipients have completed verification.
- For Teams, the Webhook URL is still valid. Open the recipient and click Send test message to test it again.
- With Repeat time set to
Do not repeat, the system notifies only once when the alert moves toAlarm.
Why can't I delete a recipient?
A recipient assigned to at least one alert cannot be deleted, and the system shows Could not delete the recipient that has been assigned with at least an alert. Remove the recipient from the Notify to field of those alerts, then delete it again.
Can one alert cover several resources?
Yes. In Apply To, select several resources at once, or select the option that covers all of them, for example All instances, to monitor every resource of that type in the VPC.
How often does alert state update?
Native Alert recalculates the metric on the Alert interval you choose, at least every 3 minutes. State in the Portal updates every minute, or immediately when you refresh the browser page.
How do I change an alert's metric?
Type and Metric type cannot be changed after creation. Delete the old alert and create a new one with the metric you need. See Manage alerts.
