Manage Access Keys
Access Keys let S3 clients, SDKs, and the API authenticate to FPT Object Storage. Create one when you need to work with your buckets outside the Portal.
To connect a client or SDK, you need the following information, all available on FPT Unify Portal:
- Access Key
- Secret Key
- Endpoint
- Region (optional for some clients)
Keys created in the Access Key tab have Admin permissions on every bucket in the account. If a key is exposed, someone could delete all your data. To share access with other people or store a key in an application, create a SubUser with limited access and use its key instead.
If a key is exposed, delete it on the Portal immediately.
Create an Admin Access Key
Each account can have up to 5 Admin Access Key pairs per region. If you need more, create SubUsers.
- Go to Object Storage → Access Key, then select a Region.
- Click Generate Key. The system generates an Access Key and a Secret Key.
- Copy both values and store them in a safe place.
- Click Confirm Access Key.
The Secret Key is shown only once, when the key is created. If you lose it, delete the key and create a new one.
Delete an Access Key
Every application or client that uses the key loses access immediately.
- Go to Object Storage → Access Key, then select a Region.
- Find the key and select Delete in the action column.
- Confirm the deletion.
Find the endpoint of a region
The endpoint is the HTTPS address that clients and SDKs use to connect to FPT Object Storage. Each region has its own endpoint.
- Go to Object Storage → Access Key, then select a Region.
- Copy the URL in the Endpoint column.
