Use S3 Browser
S3 Browser is a free Windows application for managing buckets and files through a graphical interface. Use it to work with FPT Object Storage on Windows without the command line, including features the Portal does not offer, such as restoring previous versions.
For command-line tools, see Connect with S3 clients.

Versioning keeps every version of an object, so you can restore or download earlier versions.
- Select the bucket and choose Edit Versioning Settings.
- Select Enable versioning for the bucket and click OK.
Restore a deleted file
With versioning enabled, deleting a file adds a version marked (delete) instead of removing the data. Delete that marker to restore the file.
- Select the deleted file and open the Versions tab.
- Select the latest version, marked (delete), and click Delete.
The file returns to the version it had before deletion.
Download an earlier version of a file
- Select the file and open the Versions tab.
- Select the version and click Download.
- Choose a local folder and click Select folder.
Set up lifecycle rules
Lifecycle rules delete files or file versions automatically after a period of time, which saves storage costs.
- Select the bucket and choose Lifecycle Configuration.
- In Bucket Lifecycle Rules, click Add.
- In Add New Lifecycle Rule, open Action for current versions or Action for noncurrent versions, and select Permanently delete files under Expiration.
- Choose when to delete: After a specific number of days after creation, or On a particular date (UTC Midnight).
- Enter the number of days or the date, and click Add new rule.
- Add more rules if needed, then click Save.
Set the bucket ACL
The bucket ACL controls who can access the bucket and its objects, with permissions such as Full Control, Read, Write, Read Permissions, and Write Permissions.
To set access quickly, use one of the shortcuts:
- Make public: everyone can read the bucket.
- Make private: only the owner can access the bucket.
Host a static website
- Upload all website files to the bucket.
- Select the bucket and choose Edit Website Configuration.
- Select Enable static website hosting, then choose the Index document and Error document.
- Open Permissions and give all users Read permission on the bucket.
- Open the website with the website endpoint shown in Object Storage Management on the Portal.
Share a file with a link that expires
Create a temporary public link to a file, for example to test or demonstrate web content.
This feature requires S3 Browser Pro.
- Select an HTML file in the bucket and choose Generate Web URL.
- Set the expiration as a number of minutes or as a date and time, then copy the link.
After the expiration time, the link no longer opens.
