Manage buckets
A bucket is the container that holds your files and folders in FPT Object Storage. Create a bucket before you upload any data.
To see your buckets, open Object Storage on FPT Unify Portal and select the Buckets tab.
Create a bucket
- Go to Object Storage → Buckets and click Create Bucket.
- Enter a bucket name and select a Region.
- Click Create. The new bucket appears in the list.
A bucket name must be unique within its cluster, can be up to 64 characters long, and cannot contain special characters.
Delete a bucket
- Go to Object Storage → Buckets.
- In the Action column of the bucket, click Delete.
- In the confirmation dialog, check the bucket name and click Delete.
Deleting a bucket permanently removes all objects in it. This cannot be undone.
Empty a bucket
Empty Bucket deletes all data in the bucket but keeps its settings, such as permissions and policies.
- In the Action column of the bucket, click Empty Bucket.
- In the confirmation dialog, check the bucket name and click Delete.
Emptying takes longer when the bucket holds many objects. For a bucket with more than 1,000 objects, consider deleting the bucket instead.
Create a folder
Object storage has no real folders, only buckets and objects. The Portal groups objects that share a path prefix and shows them as a folder. For example, objects folder-1/object-1.txt and folder-1/object-2.txt appear inside folder-1.
- In Object Storage → Buckets, open the bucket.
- Go to the location for the new folder and click New folder.
- Enter the folder name and click Create. The folder appears in the bucket.
Search for a bucket
Enter part of the bucket name in the Search box and press Enter.
