Manage objects

An object is a file stored in a bucket, of any format. Use the Portal to upload, download, share, and delete objects without any extra tool.

Upload objects

The Portal accepts up to 100 GB per upload. For larger files, use an S3 client or the SDK.

  1. In Object Storage → Buckets, open the bucket.
  2. Go to the location for the file and click Upload object.
  3. Select the files on your device and click Upload. The files appear in the bucket when the upload completes.
note

If a file with the same name already exists in the folder, the Portal warns you before it overwrites it. Without versioning, the new file replaces the old one. With versioning enabled, the system keeps the old file as a previous version.

Download an object

  1. In Object Storage → Buckets, open the bucket.
  2. Go to the file and click its name. The browser downloads the file.

Copy the URL of an object

Copy the URL of an object to share it or embed it in another website. The URL opens for anonymous users only when the object is public. See Manage permissions.

  1. In Object Storage → Buckets, open the bucket.
  2. Go to the file. In the Action column, click Copy URL.

Delete an object

  1. In Object Storage → Buckets, open the bucket.
  2. Go to the file. In the Action column, click Delete.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, check the file name and click Delete.
danger

Without versioning, a deleted object is removed permanently and cannot be recovered.
