# 2. On-demand manual scale

**Step 1:** Go to **Autoscale Group** page.

### **Case 1: Scale in**

**Step 2:** In **Actions** section, select **Scale in**.

**Step 3:** A new dialog box will appear, users configure the following information:

* **Count:** The number of nodes to be reduced. This cannot be less than the **Min size** of the group (Default: 0).

**Step 4:** Select **Scale in**.

The system will check the information and perform resizing group if valid. After the action is successfully done, the Status will change to Active.

### **Case 2: Scale out**

**Step 2:** In **Actions** section, select **Scale out**.

**Step 3:** A new dialog box will appear, users configure the following information:

* **Count:** The number of nodes to be increased. This number cannot be more than the **Max size** of the group (Default: 10).

**Step 4:** Select **Scale out**.

The system will check the information and perform resizing group if valid. After the action is successfully done, the Status will change to Active.
