# 1. Create security group

**Step 1:** On **Security Group** page, select **New Security Group**. A new interface will appear.

**Step 2:** On **New Security Group** page, users configure following fields of information:

* **Name:** Enter your group name. By default the system will set itself for users.
* **Network**: The network range that this security group system depends on. The default will be default VPC network range.

**Step 3:** Select **Create security group.** After the security group is successfully created, users will be directed to the **Security Group details** pag&#x65;**.**

**Step 4:** On **Security Group details** page, users select instances to include in a security group > Select **Save.** The instances of this Security Group will now be affected by the firewall rules created below.
