**Step 2:**

* To avoid turning off the virtual machine when resize in the future, turn on **Hot-add.** The default system will instruct users to activate after creating the virtual machine.
* To change the instance type, users need to choose a new model with a different configuration than the current configuration. Each model will have different **CPU** and **RAM** configurations depending on the needs.

Next, select **Resize**.

The system will process to resize after checking the allowed VPC resources. The instance will be temporarily turned off and restart itself after the process is complete. In case Hot-add has been activated, the virtual machine will not need to be turned off and can still work normally with the new configuration.
